which way round does manifold gasket sit?

on ASV engine im replacing turbo but forgot which way round the gasket sits on exhaust manifold to head.
It has a metal side & one corner so to speak has a point on it. i presume metal faces turbo manifold but does corner point down or up?any difference? im off to clean mating surface while someone hopefully answers.
