Just an fyi...I just received an email letting me know I could now log back on to the settlement site and book my buyback appointment. First available for any dealer near me is Nov. 25, 2016, which I booked.

The process is really straightforward and the nice thing is that you are asked to enter your exact current mileage before booking the appointment. Thus, if your offer letter was off on mileage, it's easily corrected at this step.

There are a few additional one page documents that one downloads at this step as well. They include:

1) Odometer Disclosure Statement

2) Limited Power of Attorney (for title and Federal Odometer Disclosure Statement)

...and a checklist to make sure you bring everything you need for the closing.

Glad this is moving forward for you! Funny that VW couldn't own up to the "mid-November" as they said.

Who knows...maybe they started booking earlier and none of those folks visit this forum.

Here are how my dates unfolded. Once you get your offer, things seem to move relatively quickly given the complexity of this buyback.

Sept. 20th, submitted documents
Oct. 18th, documents accepted
Nov.4th, offer available online
Nov. 9th, schedule appointment email
Nov. 25th appointment date for buyback

when you get your appointment, make sure you post in this thread what condition your car was in and if it as an issue at turn in!
http://forums.tdiclub.com/showthread.php?t=468882
my docs finally got accepted yesterday, and hoping to get the paperwork to sign soon.
Once you book your appointment, the acknowledgement page that appears specifically states only this with regard to condition:

"Your vehicle will need to be driven under it's own 2.0L engine power in order for us to complete the Buyback. You will also need to bring the following items to your closing:

- Your Vehicle;
- Your Keys;
- Your Government-Issued ID;
- Your Certificate of Title (if you own the vehicle or have possession of the title). Please verify that there is a space to sign over the Title; and
- If the owner listed on the Certificate of Title is different than the Registered Owner, this person also needs to be present at the Closing or you will need to obtain a Power of Attorney to sign over the Title. This is not necessary if the additional listed owner is your lender."

So, condition does not seem to be a variable beyond the above.

Congratulations to you! I submitted my final offer (notarized) at 10am last Friday (11/4). Got an email today that my submission requires action. Anybody else have this issue? I have a call out to the claims center. I own my TDI free and clear, am the sole owner, and have been prompt in doing everything asked of me in the buyback (thanks to this group!). It's a 2010 Jetta Sportwagen.

it seems this may be due to them not being able to read the notary information or something simple like that.

yes, but I want to see those that are going to push that vague description.... :)

Turn in wrecked cars, cars that barely make it under their own power, etc.

More for amusement than anything, as my car is in pretty good condition and I don't intend to push my luck when I turn it in.

Thanks. This is a great resource for all of us.

I was concerned a little last Friday when I submitted my offer acceptance as the upload procedure was not very clear in what needed to be uploaded. Initally, I planned to just upload the two signed pages but since there was only the ability to upload one document, I finally reassembled the entire seven page offer letter, including signature pages, as one PDF. I posted at the time I thought this might turn out to be an issue for some folks (not necessarily it's the problem you ran into). VW could have offered the ability to upload multiple files and avoided that confusion - or at least provided more detailed instructions.

I agree! I just got off of the phone with a claims specialist (Max) who was extremely nice and helpful. Apparently my upload last week was too small to read and only produced a thumbnail image when they tried to download it. Hoping my new upload today gets me a buyback date sooner rather than later as I'm approaching the 100K service that I was hoping to avoid by selling the car back before December. Fingers crossed for everyone and thanks again for all of the helpful insight on this board!

Oh! So were you allowed to change your turn-in dealer that late in the game WHEN you scheduled your turn-in appointment?

That will not be me either. My car is in very nice condition and I don't plan on "stripping" it, etc.

YES! You have the option to do a search by zip code and distance from that zip code for all participating dealers. I did so hoping to find a smaller dealer with an even sooner turn in date, but my original choice offered the soonest appointment. It's easy though to try out multiple options and look at the various dates available BEFORE committing to one dealer and date.

Submitted documents on 9/20, got my offer 11/4, scheduled my appointment today for 12/13. Funny thing is, the dealer only had appointments on Wednesdays the entire month.

Same here - a very limited number of appointments (~3 per day), only on Wednesdays. Maybe they're doing a slow rollout, as it's hard to believe they can accommodate everyone within 90 days of their offer at that rate.

Which dealer is that one?
Appointment is with Heritage in Parkville. And my bad.....appointments are only Tuesday afternoons, not Wednesdays.

none!
Funky calendar. Sunday November 13 available at 4:00pm. Selected that. Then it gives me a page with SATURDAY November 12 as the appointment. Same thing for the following Sunday. So I booked the 20th and it gives me the 19th.

Then the email comes and it's even more messed up:

You have successfully scheduled your appointment with a Settlement Specialist at Royal Motor Sales - San Francisco on 2016-11-20 at -8:00 AM.

Not exactly sure when the appointment is, but it's done.

Good thing they're delivering my Ford Escape on Friday!

Rechecking the website, it now shows 11-19 at 4:00pm. Looks like a time error on the webpage. They need to fix that.

I just got my offer letter acceptance & the go ahead to schedule my appointment. I had uploaded the notarized documents on 11/4.
My selected dealer has all dates on Tuesdays with the first being 11/29.

Submitted my docs on 10/12 so I guess I can expect my offer about end of month.

Submitted my paperwork on 10/30. I still haven't received an email or a request for additional information. This is very frustrating. I can't finance a new car until I get a buyback offer from VW.

I really hope I get my email soon, my battery is toast. I parked the car months ago and I just sort of forgot about the car for a few weeks and it must have killed the battery. I've been starting it every day to run it the past several weeks but it is very iffy. I'd just hate to drive a brand new battery five miles to the dealer...
