2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee diesel

I have a lot of interest in this SUV. 3.0L CGI block V6 turbo diesel good for 425 lbs/ft torque stock. Engine is made in Italy by VM Motori who has quite a lot of experience building diesel mills for Fiat. Rated at 30mpg for a 4x2. 4x4 gets 28mpg highway. Not bad for a heavy vehicle.




Center locking and rear locking diffs. Air adjustable suspension. Oh, and the very nice UConnect infotainment system. A top of the line model will run you almost $60k. Lots of money for a Jeep but I'm seriously contemplating replacing my 2008 Expedition with one of these.

Anyone see one first hand? I've been drooling over the YouTube reviews and Jeep website.

I am very interested in it as well. I have priced out a pretty well equipped Limited around $50k MSRP. Have you looked at the Q7 TDI? 3 rows of seats and similar power.

Didn't consider the Audi. It's almost as big as my Expedition which is what I don't want. Does the Q7 have a lockable rear diff?

Audi Q5? Smaller than JGC and Q7.
Touareg TDI - JGC Competitor size, power, price.

I believe the AWD Quattro system has locking front, rear, and center, but no low range transfer case.

Hmm... will have to look into the Audi system in more detail. I was under the impression that all diffs were open. That's a deal breaker in the snow especially when towing my trailer.
