I give GM credit for taking advantage of demand for a market out there unfulfilled.

I'm not a big fan of Government Motors, but a diesel engine with a manual transmission means I'll consider it!

GM should resurrect the kappa chassis and drop in a compound turbo diesel engine. It'll never happen, but they are definitely on the right track with all of the new diesels they are rolling out.

Unfortunately their announced SUV diesels for the US have small cargo spaces in comparison to what the American buyer likes to buy (35 cubic feet of cargo or larger carrying four or five passengers).

They will be the diesel Tiguan that VW chose to never sell here in the USA

Ok, so maybe here in the Houston/Texas area is where people like larger SUVs.

If they have the ability to produce, they'd be silly not to capitalize on those who want diesel-powered compact and mid-size SUVs at a price-point below Merc and BMW, and who have tired of the never-ending promise of Mazda to put out a SkyD SUV.

Cheers
D.

3L Diesel in the 1500 trucks would be sweet.

GM is in talks to exit Europe?

How will this play out for future North American diesel G.M. cars and trucks?

http://www.cnbc.com/2017/02/15/gener...t-analyst.html

I suspect not very well.
