Mechanical Timing Check after Timing Belt Replacement

Is there a way to mechanically check the valve timing on my 02' TDI? I have checked the VAG-COM and adjusted the injector pump, but things still don't seem right since I had a local guy change out my belt.

I now have a timing belt replacement kit, but was unable to do it myself before. I am afraid the guy didn't lock it to TDC when he did it.

Need help!

No way to nail it down tight without tools. Are there any paint marks if you look under the cover?

Who did you take it to? There are lots of good folks in the Portland area who could have done the job the right way. You might want to seek out their help in determining how the job was done and if it needs to be redone or not.
