Hey guys, I have a question about injection pumps.

how often should i have my injection pump rebuilt for optimum performance?

I know pumps wear, and having worked on many older diesels, injection pump rebuilds are considered a "maintenence item", just like injector rebuilds. Does this logic apply to the newer VW diesels as well? (2001 Jetta) or do i just keep driving until i have a problem? I really would like to keep this car for a long, long time, and want to stay on top of maintenence, including the big items.

Anyone have a reccomendation for someone to rebuild the pump?

Don't get too concerned about it until you have performance problems or get a CEL code.

There are plenty of Bosch shops across the country, but only a couple have invested in the equipment to rebuild electronic pumps.
