Starting on my clutch replacement tomorrow morning 99.5 Jetta. Im more than your average joe at turning a wrench but i have never put a clutch in a fwd car. Any surprises i should expect during the project or any tips you can send my way? Any help would be appreciated...oh and pull the motor or just transaxle?

I doubt you have to pull the motor. You can just get at it from the side or below if you have a lift.

The Bentley manual would be a good idea - it has detailed step by step instructions. Two things you will run into - you will have to tilt the engine down (there will be only 1 mount left attached) so you'll need a support that can be moved. Also - one of the CV axle flanges won't fit past the subframe without moving the engine forward, or removing the flange.
