After my jetta sat for a year and a half i decided to do some last minute work on it and get it to a autocross. Malone did a new tune for it and it rocked on the course. I suck at keeping track of where i am on the track but this was my first time ever doing any racing event ever.
in a nut shell
2052 turbo, 3" strait
Head work, undercut valves, ported and polished
PP .764 5 hole

ive been interested in going to an autocross event to see if I can do a few ride alongs.

it always seems like I will have no idea where im supposed to go because its just cones and no lines... lol. that's why I want to do a ride and see how confusing it is.

good luck with that. they dont let passengers ride with other drivers. they do have instructors you can ride with or have them ride in your car. 4 of the 5 runs i did was with an instructor.

they have some events around here and I have seen pics with a passenger in the car. maybe that was the instructor. that would be as good or better so that's ok by me.

Main thing stopping me from going is that I work weekends, literally only weekends... but im moving to weekdays this fall so next year I hope to explore autocross a bit.

So i just learned a valuable lesson. never go autocrossing with less than half a tank or full tank of fuel. i was taking the corners so hard yesterday that it stopped the engine, sucked to much air into the fuel system. it would not rev like it should. also i was basically cooking the oil in the turbo bearing because it was HOT and the car shut off. had to crank it like a bishnatch to get it to start ASAP to keep it from cooking and help cool it down. LESSON LEARNED

i dont know. the only thing i know of is putting a pickup fuel pump in it but i chose to run a walbro inline after the filter. i think im going to grab one from a junk yard and gut it so its just a tube and make or modify the baffle. i never had this problem but i always ran on half to 3/4 full tank. i wanted to have less weight but i don't think it matters and that its obviously not worth it.
