Revisiting after now becoming more aware of the CP4 HPFP issues. My BMW 535d has one. They extended the warranty to 10y/120k mi, but I'm over 180k mi now. My bro just bought a 2012 Golf tdi that is also just over the 120k mi mark, so he missed out on any VW warranty coverage. He saw some debris in the fuel filter when he did his initial change last weekend.
I got spoiled living in TX where I was tanking up with diesel that had up to B5 in it. When I moved back to MI I just didn't do anything extra (lazy, I guess). Now I'm wondering what the proactive options are. I was happy to hear from Peter at ID parts that he doesn't think the CP4 issue is as dire as some state, but the worrywart part of me is stressed out...
