I swapped to a .658 5th this summer. Was not a hard swap, just follow the excellent guide posted above. Take your time, and heat the gears up. With heat, they will just pop right off.
It did make for a large jump from 4th to 5th. Would have not gone with .658 if I was on stock power, or did much city driving. You will be revving 4th out more, or lugging 5th in the 50-60mph range. I was previously shifting to 5th around 45-50, but now shift around 60. 3000rpm has me running 100mph, 2000rpm at 70mph.
I did the swap for a quieter cabin, and lower engine rpm. I have not seen a drastic increase in MPG. Maybe 1-2mpg if cruising <80. Anything over that and the air resistance seems to cancel any gains from lower rpm.
