2012 Golf Hatch opens only with key fob

VW replaced my rear hatch under the corrosion warranty. When i got the car back yesterday the rear hatch will only open with the key fob. previously the hatch would open when the car was unlocked by pressing the rear hatch vw logo. there is no inside release for the hatch on this model so it is inconvenient to use the key fob every time you want to open the hatch.

any help appreciated

Bring it back to VW it’s still should be under warrantee from the job they just did

just back from an hour drive and now the hatch is unlocked when the doors are unlocked. no need to use key fob. can't explain it but it works !
