Audi A6 2.5 TDI Avant fuel pumps!!

Arrgg!

am having some difficulty in tracking down full details for a replacement fuel pump for my 1996 AAT A6 Audi 2.5 TDI Avant.

Any advice??

I have found a company in china that has a site 'vepump.cn' but I do not enough about the fuel pump to find an appropriate replacement.

Does anyone know the pump type that would fitted to a 1996 AAT A6 Audi 2.5 TDI Avant??
Or how to save a little money compared to the price stated by my local Audi repair shop?? (£650+ (generic) or £850+ (Bosch)!! for pump alone!!!)

Do NOT buy China Bosch pump knock-offs. The quality is inferior.

You maybe able to source the real thing through another Bosch distributor for less. Or try a diesel injection service shop, one you can mail the pump to, for a complete rebuild. I'm sure Europe has MANY diesel injection shops.

Will also avoid dodgy Chinese pumps.
