Doors won't open??

Hey everyone! I recently purchased a 2000 vw jetta gl tdi with oem roof racks added on. The problem is the two rear doors and passenger door will not open from the inside or outside...the only thing that works is if you bump the door handle with your fist fairly hard. The drivers door is fine though. Once the doors have been unlocked and opened after banging, it will be fine...as long as the door is not locked. Has anyone else had this experience? and secondly is it the roof racks causing the problem like the PO suggested? any help will be much appreciated, thanks for reading

Is the roofracks putting stress on the doors at its attachment poimts? In other words, pushing the door outwards?

So if you push in on the doors will then then open? I would take the rack off and see if there is a difference.

If the roofrack is pushing the doors outwards, the latch won't be able to release when pulling the handle. Pushing inwards releases this stress.
