03 TDI Wiper Issues

Hello all. I have an 03 TDI and when the wipers are turned on they only move at one speed, regardless of what position the switch is in. Sometimes the wipers do not come on or they turn off on their own. Not sure where to start looking. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Probably the relay #377 which is at the drivers knee behind the panel.
It could be the stalk, and it could be the motor. I ended up replacing all three, but it was the relay. I replaced a bad relay with a bad relay. Try to avoid that if possible.

You can find them used on ebay and perhaps by another forum member.

A new one was about $90 from the dealer, if I recall correctly.

My problem was slightly different. Wipers would not turn off, but I still had high, low and intermittent. You can try cleaning the contacts. That worked for a little while.
