i've searched for a while and havent found anything. is it possable to swap a 5 spd to a 6 spd tranny. 2nd question is it worth it though?? or is it just easier to do the 5th gear swap

A search for "o2m" or "drw" will reveal all. drw being the designation for the euro 6-speed that folks have put into North American TDIs.

I thought that aswell Micky, that works out at £1.200 sterling.
You can get these 6 speed box's and drive shafts and gear box shifts
for £400-£500/$785-$981 in a scrap yard over here.
They must Be new units for that price.
