Test Drive: 2011 VW Touareg TDI Execline

Actually the official Canadian numbers for the 2011 are 11.1 & 7.0 L/100km.
Lighter weight and the 8-spd tranny in 2011 make the difference.
One thing that blew me away though was here in the US the Touareg TDI Highline is $1K more than an equally equiped 2011 ML 350 BlueTEC. I'm not sure what VW's Touareg TDI sales are like in the US but what is VW thinking?

If the Touareg can be equipped with the locking center and rear differentials it would be MUCH more off road capable than the ML - but I cannot tell from the VW website if that is the case. If true though the Touareg is then a better 'value' than the ML.
I don't know if it physically downloads it, but you can access it to dial from the headunit rather then from the phone. The 2010 worked this way and once I turn on bluetooth on my phone I don't touch it until I take it with me when I leave the car.

It downloads the phone book and call history (dialed, missed, received). The voice feature for calling out of the phonebook works great.
