Default groannn..I started a new thread, and the new thread won...

I just posted my VERY lengnthy saga of my TDI troubles. I think that it was erased.

Ok. Long story short. Bought a car from TDI club.
Within weeks...new catalytic converter. One Grand. Ok.
Within two months..transmission goes out.
Are there any recalls or anything? I cannot afford this.
It was all I could do to get the loan for the car.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.
Sorry so short.

Hi PattyG
Your inital posting has not dissapeared but was placed in the classified/auto for sale section...

Please provide more information on how many miles, 5 speed or automatic, maintenance history etc to give us a better idea in what condition the rest of the vehicle is. One thing I have noted over the years is not to buy a used vehicle that has been pampered and then use it for hard driving conditions - it will blow up. One more question I like to pose is - where was this vehicle a year ago - lets say the Gulf region ? These salvaged vehicle have been cleaned up extremely well and passed on to unsuspecting consumers.
I have a new 2009 Sportwagon/6 speed (1/2016)
In loving memory
Used 2002 Jetta - 5 Speed Manual 175K
New 2001 White Golf 2DR TDI - sudden demise at 60K and 60 MPH....
New 2001 Tomato Red Golf 2DR TDI - rest its soul at 250K....
