__. Hey, Bill. If you're heading up towards Burlington or Greensboro, the Flying J at Exit 150 has fuel for about $2.45 and it's creeping lower.BillsTDI said:I checked the Greater Raleigh area web page this morning and the lowest D2 was 2.59 while the lowest price for unleaded regular was 2.19 but most were in the 2.22-2.29 range.
Or you can go to the Resco Mart (Phillips 66/Red Star Oil Co) on Hwy 401 in Garner and get D2 for 2.49. It's less than a mile from the 70/401 split, so it's not too far out of Raleigh.mrGutWrench said:__. Hey, Bill. The fuel probably costs less in Europe. Taxes...different story.decibel car audio said:i pay £0.98 per litre you americans get your fuel cheap
Here in Cary, NC there is one Mobile station that just lowered the price of URG from 2.39 to 2.29 and that still is high. The same station just lowered D2 from 2.89 to 2.79. $0.50 per gallon difference! Give me a break, no wonder I never see a diesel vehicle filling up at that station. Go down the road and pay 2.65 or about 10 more miles and get it for 2.53.MrPolak said:Diesel $2.59 at local Wal-Mart while reg unleaded is $1.99. Price difference is pretty much same everywhere else. THAT makes me mad!
While gas was $2.89 I was paying $2.99 for diesel! THAT makes me MADDER! Somebody post some pictures of puppies or I'll go off!
__. Thanks, Bub. I'm heading for the Triangle this weekend - I'll check this station. D2 is still $2.79 down near in "the middle of nowhere".bubbanc said:Or you can go to the Resco Mart (Phillips 66/Red Star Oil Co) on Hwy 401 in Garner and get D2 for 2.49. Not disagreeing with you Tornado, but I have been noticing a significant difference in the way my car is running and performing, since I drove the past 100 miles on "arguably" my first ULSD tank.TornadoRed said:Everyone.
The refineries have not been making anything except ULSD since their June 1st deadline. The storage facilities at the terminals were probably close to 15ppm by August 1st. All retail outlets were probably close to 15ppm by Sept 1st.
Your local station is just doing a bit of advertising. Their fuel almost certainly met the ULSD specifications a month or two ago.
Haven't checked them out. Looks like the Resco/Phillips 66 went up to 2.59. Oh well.. still cheaper than most of the places around here at 2.65.mrGutWrench said:__. Thanks, Bub. __. Have you checked the prices lately at the Hess truckstops/travel centers at exit 306/312 off I-40? They're handy but their prices are usually a few high, so I'm guessing they're "lagging" on this trend.
'
__. I drove I-40 on Friday PM and had a look at the Hess (and other big stations at 302 and 318 exits) signboards but for the life of me I can't remember. But they were a good bit higher than the $2.45 I paid at Flying J at Haw River last week. Can't remember, can't remember ... gee, it's hard getting old; a mind is a terrrible thing to lose.bubbanc said:Haven't checked them out. Looks like the Resco/Phillips 66 went up to 2.59.
