New Ebay drivers door lock

Have not been able to locate a new drivers door lock with key.If I purchase one off of Ebay that is new, can I take out the key cylinder and transfer in my old Key cylinder lock, or are the aftermarkets different.

They are slightly different, but you may be able to get it to work with some finesse. I remember some of the parts will interchange but some will not. The individual tumblers in the VW lock are brass and thicker than the steel ones in the Chinese handles. The "C" at the end of the latch mechanism are thinner, so you'll have to use a thin shim to make up the gap or it'll be loose.

I'm on vacation in Mexico currently but I can check when I get home. That probably doesn't help you now though, sorry.

But I have enough of both shims to re-key it if need be.

I have a Chinese one on my pax door...as I recall I was able to swap the lock cylinders but it was not to good a fit...I think I put the Chinese one back in....

but I rarely lock my doors and when I do I just use the drivers lock.
