Has anyone done, considered or looked into a TDI swap from a sedan to a wagon?

I like the wagon design for versatility and cargo room. I know there were “sprotwagons” but they are very rare and I just recently stumbled across a cheap 2009 Wagon with the 2.5 and front end damage. Would a 2006 BRM swap?

Thanks

Could you? Yes. Should you? No. Swapping an engine from an older vehicle into a newer vehicle is illegal, and the chances of getting caught are a lot higher when you live in a state that tests the emissions. You'd be better off swapping in a CBEA or CJAA into it, it'll be legal, and it'll perform a lot better than the BRM.

Also, consider the cost of the swap vs buying the Sportwagen with a TDI already in it. If you have the emission fix applied, then it has a whole new warranty.
