I found out last week that the fix for my Audi Q5 was to slide the visor back to block it out! Hey...maybe this will work for the Golf as well. It sure does. If I hadn't seen that post on Audiworld I never would have known that both my cars have this feature. I hope this post helps someone. And if this is a re-post...sorry!

This is great on the driver side, but VW did not do the same on the passenger side. One thing I liked about my previous vag car, was that it had on both sides plus a center visor.

My 2011 Golf has this feature for both sides. I do miss the tiny center visor for my MkIV GTI though.

My Tundra actually has two sets of visors, so if you're alternately getting sun in the front and the sides, you can block both. That's such a good idea-- curious why nobody else does that.
