I recently picked up a 199,600-mile Beetle alh and it is wearing a three-notch head gasket which looks oem.......has a weathered look around the edges.
How often did VW use a three-notch from the factory? I thought the vast majority were two notch????? Just wondering.
I have been measuring piston protrusion for quite awhile on the older engines and now some alh. I understand "why" it could theoretically require a three. But, it just seems odd from the factory????
I believe my two other alh's have two's.
