Subtle Helicopter Noise "Bub blub blub" when releasing clutch - DMF? Mounts?

Hello I just purchased a 2014 Jetta TDI 6 speed manual with 39k miles on it.
I now have noticed a subtle chugging or whooping sound. It’s kind of like a blub blub blub sounds almost like the engine idle is amplified when depressing the clutch and when in gear under load low rpm. But the blub sound doesn’t seem to increase with revs its fairly steady kind of disappears...it’s mostly only noticeable when going slow when I’m in first gear and releasing the clutch or reverse taking off slowly with the clutch depressed. But keep in mind during these times I'm lugging the engine a bit, very low RPM's taking off. I don't like to slip the clutch when taking off so I give it as minimal throttle as I can and just release and accelrate smoothly, but down low it makes the blub blub blub vibration sound, like sotmething is swinging through the air, think of like the sound of a helicopter blade almost....But at the same time I do notice the same sound if I listen very closely when idling or normal driving, its just amplified when releasing the clutch under a very low RPM. It's extremely faint though and you have to be listening for it.
My mind is going towards DMF or maybe a worn dogbone or motor mount? Is the DMF supposed to make a very faint noise, maybe this is normal or at least maybe its just the worn mounts like i said...only 40k miles?? I have a feeling the dealer would try and sweep it under the rug because it is barely noticeable.
Let me know what you think, please.
Thank you!!

What you are describing sounds kinda normal.
At low rpm the mounts have a much harder time dealing with the vibration/pulses of the engine. Do you feel the pulse at the same frequency on your clutch pedal with your foot?

You can try a dogbone mount insert, but I think that might amplify the sound if anything.

From my experience a failing DMF is more rattly then "chugging or whooping".

I can't really feel the vibration it's mostly auditory. like I said I can hear it (I think) even when the clutch isn't depressed and low RPM's but it's so faint it's tough to tell. but I definitely hear it when I'm letting the clutch out every time.

does anyone else here a whoop whoop whoop sound when letting their clutch out?

it does just kind of seem like somehow I'm hearing the DMF in action. I don't remember if I heard this on any of the other TDI's I test drove.

thanks for the reply though maybe ill have the VW tech check it out with a scope to see if he can pinpoint of the sound is coming from a mount or direct from the DMF in which case maybe something is wrong.

Good luck with the dealer!.. "I see hear feel smell no nothing" Unless it is VERY obvious..don't hold your breath..especially if it deals with a warranty..no check engine light..no problem.. (usually!)

yeah i know. but ill put it on a lift and check mounts myself and bring it back to prove if i have to. or if it's not the mounts ill bring it to a local specialist and come back to the dealer. won't always win but worth trying.

it could be normal though...still trying to figure that out lol

brought it to the dealer and yeah they said nothing was wrong with it. It is a very subtle noise/feeling but I don't believe other TDI's I have driven do this. any opinions? it's tough to video it too because it doesn't really come through audio and definitely not video.

should I try a different dealer than I bought the car from and if not a vw/tdi specialist?

It seems like I can feel the DMF going around and when the clutch is just engaging under low rpm and a slight load I can hear and feel it most but it's still subtle. but it's especially noticeable taking off on a hill. perhaps it's just lugging the engine and I can feel the engine lugging when the flywheel is being pressed up against by the clutch? also it's only under 1k rpms when this happens, as soon as RPM's go up to 1k and over the sound complete disappears.

I think what you are describing is perfectly normal. I too felt this on my MK6.
Test drive another car if you can and see if it has the same sound/feel.

ok good to know. it does seem somewhat normal I just don't recall it when I did test driver another one before I bought this one. but I could have easily just not noticed.

thanks for your opinion!
