Default steering over assisted on golfs 2015

The steering assist on the 2015 golfs is over asisted on 2 of the three golfs I drove in the last two days. Apparently it is adjustable according to a master tech I spoke to. My question is whether it can be ajusted or whether is is a software download from vw's mothership and can only be done by a dealer. My local dealer I think is too stupid to even know what I'm talking about.

It can be done via coding with VCDS or OBDeleven.
I've seen the steps mentioned on vwvortex and/or golfmk7 I believe.

Basically you can put the steering effort on "sport", permanently.

Using the words dealer and stupid in the same sentence is just plain old proper grammar. Your English teacher would be proud.

I took delivery of golf tdi yesterday, went into adaptions on vcds for # 44, setting for steering power was at 100%, set it to 60%, now it feels quite good. I'll see if it stays there or reverts. If it stays, I'll post exact procedure and the code I used.

Mine reverts to 100% from any setting whenever the ECU gets power cycled. I have a 9282 ECU.

Alltrack as a driving mode button by the shifter that may be able to retro fit into the TDI, it adjusts from sport mode, off road (prob not an option), and custom.

I have it on custom, with sport steering but normal shifting points. It weighs down the steering wheel real nice.
