so has anyone done this to any belts ?

it looks like a good idea for a Serpentine belt,

but would it help a timing belt easily get to 60K miles without failure ???

on edit: looks like I cannot embed the video for some reason

Timing belts usually get to 100k miles w/o any "help" and when there is a TB "event" it's usually not the belt that fails first, it's the tensioner, roller(s) or waterpump.

Yeah, I wouldn't mess with the timing belt. Second, the serpentine belt is usually fine for the same interval (typically I find they look "ok" when the timing belt interval has expired), and you're crazy not to change it when you change the timing belt, so.....
