How long do links persist?

If I post a link like this on my webpage (see below), how long will people be able to access that thread before it gets deleted/archived/whatever?

Is there a better way to link to TDI Forum threads from the outside?

Thanks,
Steven

Upto now, ALL the topics mentioned before have been kept (minus a few that were deleted for content). If anyone wants an item to be archived, please send me an email, along with the current URL and I will place it into the archives.

I don't think it's necessary to archive.

I just wanted to make sure that if I have a URL like this: http://forums.tdiclub.com/NonCGI/Forum5/HTML/000383.html

on the page in my sig that it will have a reasonable lifetime and if it should expire at some point would be findable again.

If not, I'd be tempted to keep a copy local to my webpage on GeoCities.

Thanks,
steven
