Watkins Glen, NY to Myrtle Beach, SC

Me and a buddy of mine will drive down from Watkins Glen, NY (after the Nextel Cup NASCAR race) to Myrtle Beach, SC during the middle of August. Are there any must-see attractions or interesting places (other than Washington, DC which we will visit) that we should see on the way?

May I suggest Ocean City, MD on the Atlantic Coast. That is the venue of H20 later in the year. I call it Miami north... If you go there, there is a wonderful restaurant called "Seacrets." And there is a great TDIClub member named Ron (RC here on the forums).

While in D.C., may I also suggest visiting the Smithsonian Museum.

Is Theo joining you on this trip?

Hey Dave! I didn't know you lurk on these forums. Hope all is well...

Theo won't be going, it'l just be my friend and I on the way to meet other friends in Myrtle Beach.

And I thought most snowbirds travelled I-79.

If you havent gone on your trip yet, make sure you stop at "South of the Border" once you get into SC on I-95. Its like the best amusement park you will ever see, only with fireworks for sale as well. So let me know what you think.

Heads up SC Liquor stores close at 7 pm. Thankfully Myrtle beach is 20 minutes from the border... where it closes at 9 pm.

(And I thought Indiana was bad with nothing on Sundays)
