Glow Plug Issue

I have a 1983 Mercedes 300D in addition to my Jetta TDI. My issue is the glow plug dash indicator light is out on the Mercedes and I would say it might just be a glow plug. I don't have an ohmeter and I am not very savvy when it comes to mechanical goings on in the car, can anyone help me who is close to my area, to check which plug is bad and also to change it out if necessary? Thanks in advance! Car starts as good as can be expected with block heater and New England weather.

Your screen name is misleading - I was going to suggest a TDI club member who is a Mercedes certified mechanic and has a shop in Lowell, MA...but CT is a different story!
