Anyone know where I can purchase Durabond 7032 high temp putty? It's rated to 2000F.

I need to fill a hole I intend to drill into the CAT on my 03' Jetta.

The J-B Weld products are rated to 500F (some, only 300F).

Or, if you know of something else that might work, please tell me.

Thanks,

I'm thinking of cleaning the cat with oven cleaner. But, now I'm not sure if I'm going to do it.

I need a new DP, so I may experiment on my cat, for the good of the TDI community... lol!

Are you attempting to gut it out yet keep the can for inspection purposes? My brother and I did that on a Chevy once. If you have a good enough welder you can do it with out a hole being drilled. Just cut one end off and then clear it out. Although if you want the dead sound when tapped with something rather then the empty tin can sound then just ram a pipe through the cat material and you get the best of both worlds.
