A lot that I am seeing are priced really low and some are ones that dealers have bought from VW as a result im guessing from the buy backs that were going on.

Depends on miles.

for the 14, heater core and cabin heat, once the car is up to temp if it does't throw hot cabin heat the core/coolant system maybe clogging and need servicing soon.

DSG service depends in miles.

Get a 15 if possible, newest of the updates for all the typical issues, likely lowest miles for pretty much the same cost, least amount of "fix" from diesel gate

Stage 1 of the fix was a software update.
Stage 2 is a hardware replacement.
Applies to ALL TDI's that are subject to the Dieselgate fix.

phase 1 and 2 only apply to '15s.

Everything from 09 thru 14 for gen 1 and gen 2 are one stop fixes. It's just gen 2 are software only, where as gen1 has hardware plus software, but both must be completed at the same time.

For gen 3s (2015) only.
Gen 2 is software and snow flap replacement :)
I own a gen 2 and a gen 1 and have the paperwork from emission modification for both.
