OK, I think I will, but I will make it for just Chevy, since it seems they will be offering more than a Cruze TD. Plagiarizing is acceptable in a post, it seems, so here it goes.

This is an invitation to all members who are currently hiding in the shadows, too frightened by the VW fanaticism to show themselves publicly for who they really are - Chevy owners!

So I say fear not! Show your dual-brand ownership with pride! Post a picture! And stand up for what you believe in and join the TDIClub Secret Society of Chevy TD Owners.

Here is a picture of mine. I know, maybe not the best day to take a picture, I will post more when the weather is better.

I secretly want a Chevy Colorado or GMC Canyon baby D-max

Does that make me a bad person?

So when I see a Cruze on the street, how do I identify it as a diesel or not? Do the diesels have a TD badge? I've always wondered if the Cruze I'm looking at on the road is diesel and I just don't know it.

They have a diesel badge on the back:

Interestingly; as of right now there are more BMW owners in this thread than either Volkswagen or Chevrolet owners...

If you observe the wheels in the above picture of the 2014 Cruze Diesel, you would see that they were unique to that model for 2014-15 model years. The badge, you would need a microscope to see. Besides, the gas ECO model also has the same shape green emblem without the 2.0 TD on it.

Thanks I guess I'll have to start looking at their wheels more.

I still have my 2010 Golf TDI, haven't finished the buyback yet. I don't drive it around much anymore, but it's still ready for service.

You might get a little dizzy if you try doing that when the car is moving.

I keep my Tdis for car driving...but I have been driving GMC turbodiesel trucks for years. I may test drive the new cruz just for kicks...I didnt really like the original...but this one may be better.

Fuel Economy: Who cares? It's a DIESEL! Great fuel economy comes as a bonus!

I wouldn't mind owning a Chevy Colorado with the diesel option. Does the baby D'Max use a timing belt, chain, or gears? After dealing with a timing belt failure in my 05 PD JWagen TDI back in 2009, I'm a bit gun-shy toward owning anything with a timing belt.

Timing Chain is used in the Colorado/Canyon.

Yes, it makes you a bad person. Just like me. I currently own an 07 canyon with only 60k miles on it, so I am having a hard time even starting the justification conversation with my wife.

Good choice! Greg, our GM specialist, is adding Cruze products to IDParts daily. These cars are proving to be pretty durable and trouble-free. Hope you enjoy it!

Cruze has a timing belt. 100K mile interval.

Good deal for the reliability feedback. How about Cruze diesel independent mechanics out there. I would assume the choices are very limited nationwide.

Unlike BMW, MB, Audi and some VW dealers, Chevy dealers usually do not charge an arm and a leg for service, and they may know a little about diesels as they have been servicing Duramax trucks for years.

Plus, a lot of Bosch components, I assume.
