GTB2056V any good ?

Is there anyone who has tried a GTB2056V from fiat Croma 2.4multijet 200hp / Alpha Brera 2.4 mjet 200hp?

Earlier fiat / alfa used a gt2256V to make 180hp in a 2.4L engine.

A gtb2056v should be better in low revs then a gt2256v and to provide enough air for a lot of revs i think.

What is good its the 2056vk from the CLS 320cdi... thats a very good turbo.
Better then the 2256 ;)

better then wish 2256 ?
Better then gtb2056v by fiat group?
its to bad that 2056vk need welding before it will fit.

Someone who has tried GTB2056v by fiat group?

When fiat switch from 2256 to gtb2056v, so I expect that gtb2056v will be better than 2256.

I ask because a turbo is cheaper to buy when it comes from a fiat than an audi

Where did you buy if ?
The GTB2056VL is one that i also have look at and it seems like a good turbo.
Will you rebulid it for vaccum ? How will you rebuild your car to work with a water cooled turbo.

Turbo have simple electrique actuator (TPS and dc 12 volt motor).
First, a install a vacuum actuator and later (if a have time to make) i install electrique actuator with N75 emulator!
When remove EGR cooler, water hose are redirected to turbo core, good heat for my engine in winter period!

would those vanes tolerate the egt's of a gasoline engine? atleast it already has the watercooled chra

nice dimensions, seems pretty good to make some PR, 42mm turbine should allow 200whp in 1.9tdi application with good emp..

Oil return and 2 water cooling input, better view.



Oil feed and 2 water cooling output, 1 water cooling input.



Tdi never too much heat in watercooling system... i use turbo watercooling in my setup for faster engine warmeup! (Even if we do not see the difference!)

Heater core lines seem perfect for the task.. or if you hae a recent car, delete the egr cooler and use these hoses..

Just to satisfy my curiosity, what's with the yellow blade? something to do with balancing?

Just thought i'd comment as non of my turbos have it, bar one, which I just thought was discolouration or dirt :rolleyes:

The GT2056v actually seems like a pretty decent combination between lag and power for the lower capacity engines.

Is VL, V for VNT ;) and L for watercool.
And is not a ball bearing!

Thanks, cross my fingers and hope he has one more :)

Where do you buy exhaust flange (turbo -> downpipe).

Update: Just purchased a turbo from a volvo.. GTB2056VL :)
