The honeymoon is over
..the local WallyWorld stopped
carrying D1. Anyone know where to get it here or Calgary
before I start calling and driving around.

cheers,
Serge

In Calgary you can get it at the Esso truck stop at Barlow and Deerfoot.

If Walmart carries the Truck/SUV formula its apparently the same as Delvac 1, according to all I have read here and elsewhere.

How about a CAT dealer? Lethbridge being as big as it is, there should be a CAT dealer/ service centre there. I have 2 within an hour's drive of my house (one in Brandon, and the AG dealer in Elie) they should have the Delo1 rebranded Devlac1. And, you can get your replacement element for your CAT 2micron filter there too!

There's one Here!
I guess Toromont/Cat is only on my side of Sask. On the other side, it's called Finning. This is where I would go, personally. Probably not a bad price, either. Best of luck!

I noticed WalMart no longer carries Delvac 1 here in the Edmonton area, either. I found and purchased the last three gallons an independent dealer in South Edmonton had. Hopefully, by the time I run thru that, Wally World will have started carrying the Truck and SUV equivalent.

I put a note in their suggestion box suggesting they do so every time I'm in the store ...

The Cat-Finning dealer here in Edmonton carries their relabeled version of D1, but it was kind of expensive when I checkedd.

I hope some large outfit, like Crappy Tire, or Stupidstore comes to the rescue, and secures a reliable supply for Alberta.

Well, with all the good suggestions I was getting I stopped
looking actively and..of course that's when I drove right
into the place. The Esso bulk station carries Delvac 1.
It is on Hwy 3 on the south side just west of Vanee, the VW
dealer. They will only sell by the case of 4 gallons but at
$122.75 it is cheaper than WallFart. For the archives;

Duncan Petroleum 2002 Inc.

Very nice people as a bonus and they also sell Baldwin
filters. The air filter in my Syncro Westy is about the
size of a TDI cylinder head and not easy to find .. another
bonus.

Also found Duron and Rotella but nobody in town seems to
know about the Cat rebadged D1.

The next guy in Lethbridge to use Fred's search will get
plenty of good info.

thanks all,

Serge

I'm tempted to run the 0W40 branded and sold at UFA stores due to the price and availability over the winter months. If Delvac and other oils continue to remain expensive and or more difficult to find, the UFA seems like an easy alternative for a winter Group IV synthetic oil at a good price (as in the link higher up in this thread).
