Passat 1996 Blue
Hello all, I see a couple members here might be in the
market for a car I intend to sell in the very near future.

It's a 96 Passat wagon that I have owned for a few years.
I bought it from a dealer who took it on trade from the
original owner. The car has around 132k miles with no evidence
to show miles are not correct. It is Windsor blue. The
interior is very nice, almost a ten. Doesn't look like anyone
every sat in it. Exterior is also very nice, the car has had
a bit of paintwork to correct some fade/scratches but no
signs of prior accident repair and no rust at all. A few dings
here and there but minimal. The car does have a sunroof.
All the options and whatnot work as they should.

Since I bought the car I have done some mechanical work,
with a small to do list remaining. Timing belt and related done
only a thousand or so miles ago. My intention was to have
the car very mechanically up to date before it goes. I actually
thought to keep this one for the duration, I have bought several
of these wagons over the past few years and this is the nicest of
the bunch, but I have to thin my collection a bit so I would like
to put this in the hands of someone who will use and enjoy it.

Probably the biggest knock is the lack of service documentation. All
I know is that the prior owner was a woman and she traded it on
an SUV to a Ford dealer. So oil service and all that is a bit of an
unknown, but my sense is at least the car was not abused and looks
to have been cared for.

As to price, I need to finish going over the car and then I can come
up with a final tally. I actually bought this one when prices were
pretty high, I got a pretty good deal, (or so I think), mainly I am
trying to recoup my time and expenses in going over the car. Suffice
to say I would want a reasonable price given the car and the present
market.

For any west coast buyers I will work with you to the extent possible.
If you feel comfortable with a long distance transaction this could be a good find for you. Maybe I might get a road trip out of the deal if the $$
justified it. As I said, this car was going to be a keeper for me, these
cars are getting older, this one pretty much just stepped out of a three
year time capsule and should get in to the hands of someone who will
use and enjoy it. By the way, the car has largely been garaged for the
three years or so I have had it.

Feel free to send a private message, or you can also email me at
greenroadinc (at) gmail.com. The car is located in SE PA, about
a half hour west of Philadelphia. I will try to take some good pictures
and make them available. I am thinking I would like to see the car
go some time in September.
