Beetle starts and shuts down immediately

My Beetle was running fine. I shut it off and 10 min later it would not keep running. It starts & then shuts down.

Sounds like the immobiliser shutting down the engine.

Any problems with door locks, switches or trunk locking system? Are both Remotes working?

Try locking and unlocking the doors manually and see if it helps.

The same thing happened to my 2000 Golf. I had it towed to the dealer and they told me it was the immobilizer and it was not fixable. I had to replace the entire computer unit and get new keys. But although my car isn't under warranty anymore they partially covered it under what they called Good Will. I had to pay about $500 for a $2000+ job.(CDN)
