Rims / Tires - VW Trade In (dieselgate)

Hi All,
I was not able to find any info on this, but I thought people may have gone through this already. In about 3 weeks I turn my '12 Passat TDI in and get a '15 Passat.

I want to keep my Rims from the '12, and turn in the car with my Winter Steel rims and winter tires (it is winter after all). Then get new Winter tires on the 17" rims and make these my winter set.

Question.... The TDI Experts, do they take note of missing the original rims? Has anyone faced this sort of situation as of yet? Just not sure what they may say, or what they look for during the return.

They wont check. I returned my 2009 on winters with rusty steelies and kept the allloys.

I agree I returned mine in May with the beat up and dead winters on them. Kept the brand new all season tires on the VW alloys and kept the spare tire. The factory stereo was also DOA!

Keeping the alloys, putting snows on them and putting them on the Tiguan. Wish me luck, delivery later today to Hamilton VW.
