I got my hands on some Sarasota 17" Beetle rims and am considering using them on my 01 Jetta. My estimate for rim weight is 23 or 24 pounds. The tire weight difference is 3 pounds. So it looks like I'll be dealing with 10 pounds per tire/wheel assembly heavier if I go for it.

My question is will this be a problem?
Will I notice an decrease in acceleration? mpg?
The ride is too soft now with stock 15" Avus rims and 195/65 R15 tires.

I'm doing a final check to make sure these rims are good, then need to make the tire buy decision.

Please reply with your thoughts/opinions.
Thanks

Fitment will not be a problem, however you will see a definite <MPG due to the added rolling resistance of the wider tire as well as the additional weight. The biggest thing that you will find is that your tire cost is going to go up.
