03 jetta empty weight?

Is this called curb weight?Can anyone tell me what my 5sd jetta tdi weighs empty?My manual and the door post both state max GVW,but I can't seem to find empty specs.Just took a road trip with 5 adults(about 750lbs on the hoof)and luggage(trunk was full)thru sw oregon and northern cal(not much level terrain)and got 48 mpg.I don't drive slow and I'm very impressed.These are great cars,if they withstand the test of time.Also,with 4000 miles,it hasn't used any oil.So far so good.

I would only expect marginally better mileage with less weight on highway cruises. At steady speeds, you're mainly fighting wind resistance, and the weight of the vehicle (within reason) is negligible. (Increased tire rolling resistance would be one of those factors)

Weight plays more of a factor in city situations, where more acceleration being done.
