2014 Passat TDI, What is it?

I just purchased my first VW a 2014 Passat TDI SE and was looking through some VW blogs and they talk about B5 or B6 or B7 versions. What do I have?
It was built and sold in USA.
Do I also need to know the type of engine I have? It is 2.0 TDI, but is there some other designation I need?
I'm looking for some aftermarket door sill protectors and all the ones I've seen come from China. Any experience with these?

You have a common rail engine (CR) which is 2.0 liters displacement.

Ahhhhh! It's not B7. It is NMS. The Euopean B7 while looking very similar shares almost nothing with the North American/Chinese NMS Passat. Some good details in here, specifically Post 8 and the link to MyTurboDiesel.

You did provide the correct link @ TDI Club for the 2012+ Passat, though. Lots of great infor all over TDI Club.

For door sill plates, there are some threads about them in the Passat area. The $25 ones from China through Ebay are okay, and dealer ones can be had for about $115.
