Bought this Passat in October of last year. It's been a great car, but I'm just looking for something else.
1997 Volkswagen Passat TDI - Turbo Diesel with a 5 speed manual transmission (like all of them)
Stone gray with dark interior, tires have good tread, paint and interior are both nice, runs great, drives great, etc. Always been a southern car, so NO RUST.
Within the last 5k miles, here's what's been replaced:
Timing Belt and tensioner/rollers
Heater core
Recovered all of the flaps inside the heater box
Windshield
Resealed injection pump and correctly set the Injection timing and Injection Quantity with VCDS
Cleaned intake manifold
Recent oil change and gear oil change
It does need pads and rotors. They work, but there is very little pad left.
The car has been a great car, and has consistently gotten me over 40 mpg; but like I said, I'm just looking for something else. Would consider trades for a nice '96-'97 Town Car or LS400. Asking $4500.
