I called Jason but to find the year of engine he installed 7 years back. We chatted and made amends. I had him do the work and the car it came back running better than i ever knew it could.

Sadly, I spun it into a snow bank the same day it was delivered. I thought fixing it would be ok till i priced the LH door replacement and rear wagon bumper. I'm now thinking i should just find an 03 blown up TDI in California or Arizona and swap this engine via Jason. Thoughts? Life is just amazing!

Salvage yard for the parts?
Swapping engines is not too bad but assuming the structure of the car is undamaged, it seems easier to fix the body it's in... swapping engines into an unknown shell can invite all kinds of electrical Gremlins and figuring out what you have all over again.

I hear that thanks. The body i have now came from WI so rust is setting in. This to has to be in the consideration. California cars are pretty good so are Arizona cars. My 02 engine will slip into a 03 easily.
