This isn't for my Jetta but a friends...

Needs strut mounts from what I was told. I was looking at a parts list and saw the following...

Strut Mount - Upper, Bushing
Strut Mount - Upper
Strut Mount - Upper, Bearing

Do we need 2x of all of these?

Follow up question. I drive a 2000, 1.9 tdi, new Bettle (150k Miles). I recently replaced front struts, sway bar bushings, ball joints and the upper mounts and bushings. However, the there is about a 1/4 to 1/2 inch gap at the top of the strut. I dont understand why there is still a gap. I was under the impression that a compressed strut mount caused the gap but I guess that is not the case. Could it be that the coil springs are worn out and compressed as well? Please let me know what other parts could be causing this gap since i ran out of ideas and need advise.

Many thanks

P.

I think you are OK with the gap. Have a look at Wing-Nut's How-To on strut mount replacement. IIRC that is where I saw the discussion.
