I converted my 05 Jetta Wagon BEW to 6-speed at 260,000 miles using a complete 6-speed manual swap kit from Frans, so I have a complete 5-speed manual swap kit left over.
Fluid is stored it in a clean jug as it was changed 15k ago
Both axles overhauled with new grease and boots 15k ago
Clutch is near-new G60/Sachs VR6, flywheel is a NOISY Eurospec 14#
Includes starter, shifter cables, shifter assy, pedal cluster, clutch line, master, slave, electrical pigtails, shift boot, throwout bearing, clutch fork, dust shield, BEW (NOT ALH) power steering pressure line, and all installation hardware (except for stretch bolts) all in excellent shape.
While in use, the transmission felt perfect, had no slack or noise in any gears, drove and shifted smoothly, even quickly, into all gears at all normal speeds and RPMs up to 120mph (or beyond, I don't recall). However, it made a "whirring" noise idling in neutral that disappeared when the clutch pedal was depressed. Upon disassembly, I determined it was the roller bearing rolling on the ridges of the outboard end of the input shaft, though I could find no unusual wear and presume the noise to be normal. If a prospective buyer or transmission expert would like any specific photos of the transmission internals while it is apart, please don't hesitate to ask. Transmission will be assembled with factory case sealant, a new input shaft seal, and new axle flange seals, but shipped separate of fluid. Alternately, transmission can be sold disassembled for a discount, or I can install a Wavetrac, Peloquin, Quaife, etc at the buyer's option and expense.
