Hi all this is my first post to diesel forum I have Golf mk3 tdi ahu with 5 speed gearbox and I was wondering if early Golf mk4 tdi has 5 speed gearbox and will the mk4 5 speed gearbox able to be fitted with ahu engine?

I'm not sure myself but even if it did the gearing is all wrong for the mk3, mk4 uses bigger diameter wheels.
If it's for some other project though and it does fit then you can use any of the mk4 boxes, they all bolt up the same but later (2000 and on) ones have the better linkage set up.
