basically when ever i switch off my 2001 seat leon tdi all the dash lights start flashing and beeping, i have tried everything and it still continues, so now its either send my instrument panel off to be looked at or get another but does anybody know if they have like a imobiliser built in to it please or whether i can just plug another one in and it will all work, cheers.

You may be able to have your local auto parts store try to read any codes that may be stored. Many will do it for free. They generally can't read all our codes, but they may be able to pin it down. Vag-com or VCDS are better, but not always easy to find.

Good Luck

I have tested earth strap for resistance which was 0.001 if i remember rightly, i then cleaned up earth conections from battery to chasis and bell housing and done another earth. when i first cleaned the earths off all i had on me was a flat blade @crewdriver but that stopped it for a week and once it started again i did it properly with sand paper and had no luck which is when i did another earth and still had no luck! I have a plug in computer at work so ill have a look on that on monday, i also know a vag specialist so ill have a word with him and see what he says but i think the next thing is to send mine off for testing, i kind of hope its ecu because i again know a guy who will do it cheap and ill get him to chip it at the same time, cheers for all help.
