Sourced a new vw rack for my 98, going to be installing this weekend.

I am wondering the best way to go about getting all the old oil out of the system so I can start fresh with vw pentosin fluid.

I've been milking the leaking rack along throwing everything at it to slow the leak, now I want to get everything cleaned out as best as possible.

How much pentosin do I need for a full fill?

Planning to measure tie-rods on old vs new to get it "close enough" to drive to the alignment shop.

Suggestions?

Grab two liters of Pentosin
Jack front end off car of the ground
Disconnect the return line going to the PS resivour
Put hose of disconnected line into a bucket so you or a helper can see the fluid thats being pumped into it.
With the car off but key turn to ACC, turn the wheel from full clock to full clock.
While watching the resivour pour good fluid in while this is being done to make sure it never runs dry.
When you see good green fluid coming out of the return line hook it back up and you should then be good to go.

I had to do this on mine because the fluid looked like mud!

When I put new tie rods on that is exactly what I did.
