I thought I'd start this thread in the same vein as the Biodiesel Prices & Locations By State/province.

If you find TDI-appropriate engine oil, transmission lube, DSG fluid, filters, etc., at discounted prices, post the details here.

Somebody can reserve post #2 to sort/summarize current offers by product, validity date, location, etc., as appropriate. A live Google Drive document / Google Map would be good.

Please keep the following format that can be easily entered into a spreadsheet (copy-paste and overwrite the below example where applicable):

--------------------
Type:
Engine Oil | Manual Transmission Fluid | ...
Product Name: e.g. Mobil1 0W-40 5.1 quart jugs
Price: $37.99 (USD)
Source: Advanced Auto Parts http://shop.advanceautoparts.com/we...uarts-jug)-mobil1_10151188-p?searchTerm=0w-40
Location: Nationwide, search store availability on above webpage
Valid Until:
Date, otherwise "Unknown"
--------------------

If there are other fields that should be included, please advise and we could make that modification going forward.

Happy shopping.

Please kindly use the format from post #1 for the sake of consistency and quick accessibility to the pertinent information. I'll clean up expired offers from time to time.

More of a rare 507 oil and hard to find in North America but a good deal with the current 20% promo:

Type: Engine Oil
Product Name: Fuchs Titan GT1 Pro C3 5W-30 XTL 5 Litre
Price: VARIES. On 4/7/16 $37.27 USD incl. free shipping and current 20% discount

Well, do not bother with this vendor as I just got confirmation that they do not ship oil to the US (their site is definitively confusing in this regard).

ECSTuning on the other hand has it in the 4 liter format for $38 and free shipping:

Thanks to whomever cleaned up this thread!

My local NAPA does not stock the ESP oils but they can order them from the warehouse. Usually next business day to store. Sometimes they have 5w-40 TDT on hand sometimes not. I usually stock up on 5w-30 for the gas cars and 0w-30 ESP for the diesels (till they buy it back).

This is an oil discount price thread, not which oil to use thread. There are dozens of those. The 5w40 ESP Formula M is discontinued by the way.

If you use a lot -- The Lubricant Store has 5-gallon pails for $183.96 each. There's a $60 rebate on the pails, limit (2), and The Lubricant Store ships free on orders over $300. So you can buy 2, get free shipping and a $120 rebate, for a net price after rebate of $247.92, or 24.79/gallon.

By contrast, if Rotella T6 synthetic oil will work for you, Walmart has it online with free local pickup for $21.36/gal. You do have to go pick it up, but you don't have to buy 10 gallons at a time or mess with rebates.

Neither of these oils, from what I can see, are VW certified. However, I've used both and had no problems with either. Both oils are certified at CK-4.

Pep Boys is running their annual online order 25% off sale, but it excludes oil. :-(

It was in conjunction with the Pep Boys offer that I used last time. I have found the 5 gallon buckets for $150 with free shipping and no tax. The Beetle isn't bad but the new to me 2004 Excursion diesel has a huge capacity(15 quarts).

$9.58 shipping and no tax.

The only place that I can find this oil locally is from Napa and they sell it for CDN$ 99 plus tax.
Maybe (probably) you can get it at this price where you live, but for me, that's a steal of a deal. I can also get my filters at a good price from Autozon. I hate that I have to get oil shipped to me but what else can I do?

Looked on the Mobil site at the specification of the super synthetic, various weights however found none that met the VW 507 00 spec. Also remember talking about the TDI oil and was told it's not a diesel oil (not sure what that was all about) If the spec does not cover VW 507 00 I would not use it.

Right- there's only one M1 that is low ash, not sure if that qualifies for the sale. Many of us use the M1 5W-40 TDT and M1 0W-40 in our older TDIs.

German Parts.ca now carries Liqui Moly oils, 5 litres for my MK5 was 60 plus tax , Top Tech 4100 5W40 I think is what I got.

I have been watching craigslist.com for my area. I have been able to buy at about ½ the retail price, motor oil, air filters and cabin air filters. With everybody turning in their TDIs, there are bargins out there.

Canadian Tire sometimes has synthetic European Formula 504.00 and 507.00 on sale. This week $29 and change for 5 liters 5w-30. Their P/N 028-8722-0.

Not trying to hijack this thread and if it's answered elsewhere please forgive me. What is the advice of the day on oil flavor for my 2006 PD engine. Time for an oil change and can't seem to find any approved oils locally. TSB 2012855/11 from 11/30/2010 had recommended two Mobil one products, the ESP and the Super 3000, neither of which I can find today. As a matter of fact, if you use the oil finder tool on the Mobil website it ends the search by saying Mobil makes NO APPROVED oils meeting 505.01 spec at all. I plan to take a trip to the dealer tomorrow and get some Castrol Edge but that's a 40 mile round trip. So once again, what is the current advice. Thanks

Many TDI PD owners have been using API-spec 5W40 oils like Mobil 1 Turbo Diesel Truck and Shell Rotella T, with very good results, since the first few months after the PD engines were introduced in 2004 in the US and Canada.

I spent/wasted about 20 minutes trying to find the thread started by the first guy to experiment with Mobil 1 or Shell Rotella T 5w40 -- probably back in 2005 or maybe 2006 -- then gave up. The main thing to think about back then, when the PD TDIs were still under warranty, was that using a non-VAG 505.01 spec oil would void the warranty. But that is no longer an issue, and the engines last just as long with an API-rated oil.

The $12/gallon rebate is back for Delvac 1 ESP, until December 31 2017.

https://mobildelvac.com/en/promotion/mobil-delvac-promotions/save-60-diesel-engine-oil-distributors

And based on this article from Blackstone, Mobil Delvac 1 has the lowest wear rate for iron in 1.9-liter TDI engines.
https://www.blackstone-labs.com/Newsletters/Gas-Diesel/July-1-2017.php
More info: the rebate is limited to (5) 1-gallon jugs (for a total of $60 back); or (2) 5-gallon pails ($120 back). The rebate is only for purchases at participating retailers and specifically excludes Amazon.

Pep Boys (a participating retailer) is offering a 15% discount on oil ordered online, so (at least for pickup at my local store) the price per gallon after discount would be $26.34. Apply the rebate, and we're at $14.34 per gallon.
