I am going to be replacing the power brake booster on a 2003 Jetta TDI and have heard that a special tool is required to separate the booster from the brake pedal rod. Has anyone done one of these that could confirm this info? Appreciate any feedback that I can get on this.

I didn't read the thread but you really do need it so you don't break the clip in the pedal. That would necessitate removal of that as well. Depending on the ABS you have it's either a total PITA or a snap. (bracketing)
