lightweight flywheels?

im looking into new clutch kits for my car an alot af the stage1-3 kits have lighter flywheels does anyone run a kit with a light weight flywheel and if so what are pros an cons an which kits are good for my setup?

I hate my light weight FW its noisy and with my RC5 it shudders because i think the FW does not take the vibration from the power stroke of the piston

They cause you to lose momentum in the drivetrain like crazy, and they take much more effort/skill in rpm-matching for downshifts.

Heavy is the right way to go on TDI flywheels, IMO. PM the guru of your choice and see what they say.

Never heard anything good about a TDI running a lightweight flywheel...

I have.. in another similar thread, though this one was multi-paged, there was I'd say a good... two people?... that had good things to say.

I have run a lightened and balanced flywheel in my TDI for 4 years. Absolutely love it. Car would not perform the way it does with a heavy flywheel.
I have put on 140,000 k's with the lighter flywheel so they are just as durable.
No problem with shifting,been doing that for 35 years so I think thats no issue for me.

I quess it depends who does your lightening ,how they do it and how much attention they pay to balancing it. Anyone can lighten a flywheel,but if you don't know exactly what you are doing with a TDI flywheel you will get what you pay for..
