2014 Passat DSG DMF replacement

My dmf has been chattering at idle for ~75k miles and I think it may be time to replace it. I'm at 205k miles now. I changed the dmf in my dsg '06 Jetta a while back and was able to do that without pulling the trans. Tight fit but doable.

Has anyone done a NMS Passat and if so how hard is it? Does the trans have to come out for dmf replacement? Thanks in advance, John

Yep. I purchased a 2013 buyback Passat with 78,000 miles and it came out of the northeast saltbelt.. Flywheel started chattering shortly after driving, I have replaced 3 over the years, this one rattled the worst.. It was actually easier to replace than the jettas.. Little more room to work. About 8 hrs in my shop.
